The biggest blessing and the biggest curse of his career, Nile Rodgers says, has been that he was never a star.
Even today, when you mention his band, Chic, people may recognise their signature song ‘Le Freak’ or maybe even ‘Good Times’, but the sheer volume of hits that Rodgers and his song-writing partner, Bernard Edwards, penned is staggering. Diana Ross’ biggest hit, ‘I’m Coming Out’, David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’, Madonna’s ‘Like a Virgin’, and Sister Sledge’s ‘We are Family’ were all penned by Rodgers.Read more…
