Irish charity Fighting Blindness has just launched a national project that aims to offer genetic screening to every person in Ireland with an inherited eye condition causing blindness An estimated 3,000 people in Ireland are affected by inherited eye conditions and the aim of the Fighting Blindness project Target 3000: An Eye on the Future is to genetically screen each person over the next three years, building a national patient registry with the information gathered.
