'Tribe' to be launched this Friday
Galway photographer Reg Gordon will launch his latest exhibit and coffee table book, ‘Tribe – A Portrait of Galway’, at Atlanta House on Dominick Street (opposite the Salt House Bar) on Friday, 25 November at 6.30pm.
The exhibition, which features 90 A2 portraits of various people living and working in Galway, will be a visual experience, which Gordon describes as “an introduction to the people you always wanted to meet”.
“We are in the middle of what will be known as one of the most important times in our nations short history. I want to show the people who were a part of that history. Not the ones who made the decisions and influenced governments but the ones who lived through it. In years to come, I want people to find the book in Charlie Byrnes and pick it up and remember the guy who played steel banjo on Shop Street,” he says.
‘Tribe’, A Portrait Of Galway is now available for purchase in Eason, Dubrey and Charlie Byrnes bookshops, priced at €44.95. It is also available from www.tribe-aportraitofgalway.com and amazon.co.uk and will be available at €40 on the night. There will be a cheese and wine reception and DJ on the night.
