Whether you are pregnant, planning your wedding, on the look out for a great gift for a loved one, or simply in need of some pampering, Michelle’s Beauty Rooms at Westside Business Centre has something for everyone
Michelle’s Beauty Rooms at Quiff Hair Studio, Westside is Galway’s premier salon for natural skincare products and treatments. The salon is operated by Michelle McDonagh, who says that that the experienced team there aim to cater for a customer’s every need in a “friendly, caring” atmosphere.
For those preparing for a big night out, Michelle’s Beauty Rooms stock lashes made from real hair along with reusable lashes, and offer waxing treatments in addition to foot and hand treatments. The salon also stocks the popular long-lasting nail varnish Shellac in wide range of colours, with a two week manicure costing just €19.
For those in need of a little extra pampering, one of Galway's top massage therapists, Caitlin Fitzgerald, works at the Michelle’s Beauty Rooms, attracting male and female customers from all over for deep tissue massages.
The salon also stocks top-of-the-range natural product lines including Jane Iredale Mineral Make Up, skin care ranges Dermadique and Nimue, odourless tanning ranges Vita Liberata, Tan Organic and Karora, and much more.
Free from synthetic dyes, fragrance and chemical preservatives, Jane Iredale Mineral Make Up is light-reflective to obscure fine lines and wrinkles, and gives a flawless nude complexion.
The long-lasting range is used by make-up artists to stars like Kylie and Dannii Minogue and Victoria Beckham, and Michelle explains that the make-up has proven popular with brides. “It’s absolutely fantastic make up for brides, it’s very lightweight and it’s 100 per cent natural, there are no chemicals whatsoever in it,” she says.
The tanning products used at Michelle’s Beauty Rooms are also organic, which makes them safe for use by pregnant women, as they do not contain any harmful synthetic ingredients. Ranges used by the beauticians at the salon include the odourless, paraben free and chemical free Vita Liberata, the award-winning Tan Organic and Irish-made Karora.
Karora’s all-natural botanical formula contains no parabens, artificial fragrances, synthetic colours or alcohol, is suitable for all skin types, and reduces the appearance of cellulite.
Michelle adds that the products will not irritate or aggravate the skin and leaves it looking naturally tanned. And she says that it does not have that tell tale ‘fake tan’ smell, which means that people often ask those who have undergone the treatment where they have been on holidays, rather than what tan they have been using!
Michelle’s Beauty Rooms also stock Dermedique skincare products, which are physician developed and professionally formulated to address individual skin types and skin concerns.
The Dermedique X-Fol Peel will leave skin looking brighter and clearer, with a more even complexion, according to Michelle. “We recommend one X-Fol a week for six weeks and that helps reduce 33 per cent of your overall lines and adds 89 per cent hydration to the skin,” she says, adding that customers can ‘pay as they go’ for Dermedique X-Fol Peels, which were €70 and are now on offer for the special price of €50.
Michelle’s Beauty Rooms operates a loyalty card system for customers and also run weekly Facebook competitions for free treatments at www.facebook.com/michellesbeauty.
The salon, along with Quiff Hair Studio, is open seven days a week, which has proven very popular with brides and bridal parties as well as wedding guests and those attending communions, christenings and other special events.
Michelle’s Beauty Rooms is open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 7pm, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
