McInerney’s SuperValu, Loughrea, has been announced as one of ten finalists in the running for the SuperValu Store of the Year 2012 title, having beaten off stiff competition from all other SuperValu stores across the country.

All 195 SuperValu stores have been independently assessed for the competition by judge Simon Rawlinson, Executive Associate Director from GFK Mystery Shopping. These audits focus on value, customer care, store presentation, fresh food offering, product range, operational standards, store hygiene and community involvement.

Store owner of McInerney’s SuperValu, Michael McInerney has said that he is delighted with the store’s nomination.

“‘Real Food, Real People’ is more than just a phrase in our store; it is something we strive to deliver every day. Both myself and the team are thrilled to have been acknowledged for our efforts, not only by our customers, but our colleagues throughout the SuperValu network,” he said.

“We are passionate about sourcing from local producers and making their products readily available to our customers, because local produce means more local jobs. We work hard at getting our store and our offers right for our shoppers, as it is them that drives our success,” said Mr McInerney.
