Water restored to majority of Galway homes

Galway City Council has confirmed that water supply has now been restored to the majority of households and business, which were cut off without warning yesterday.

The disruption occurred as a result of a burst watermain but this has now been repaired and reservoirs on the eastside of the city have been refilling overnight.

Unfortunately, a number of houses and estates on higher ground in the Ballybrit area may still be experiencing difficulty with supply and it is expected that full service will be restored by Friday afternoon.
