More than 20 individual events have already been registered in Galway for Science Week 2012, which takes place nationwide from 11 to 18 November with the theme of ‘Everyday Experimenting’.
Over 400 events are being held in libraries, schools, colleges, universities and other centres across Ireland.
Events scheduled in Galway include Galway Science Festival, which takes place on the NUI Galway campus. It is a fantastic family day out with over 80 interactive stands, including companies like Medtronic, Cisco and Boston Scientific.
The Planetary Society, in association with the School of Physics at NUI Galway and Galway Astronomical Club will present a talk in NUI Galway titled ‘The Mars Science Laboratory ‘Curiosity’ – In Search of Origins’. This talk will present details on how the Curiosity mission is currently proceeding and show the very latest images transmitted back from the Red Planet!
The Galway Science and Technology Festival runs for two weeks and arranges for shows, workshops and events to visit over 120 primary and secondary schools in the city and County.
