Dunmore crash victim named

Gardaí have formally named the victim of yesterday evening's motorcycle accident in Dunmore as 36-year-old Dermot Kenny.

Mr Kenny was from the local area in Dunmore and obtained fatal injuries when the motorcycle he was driving struck a bridge near Killavoher shortly after 5.15pm on Sunday evening.

His body was subsequently removed to University Hospital Galway and the road was closed to facilitate a forensic investigation. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093-70840 or on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111.
